Ach., lichene epifita of the Parmeliaceae which grows on the tronco of querce, abeti and other trees of latifoglie in Central Europe and southern, in the regione balcanic and in the Morocco. The profile chemical and straordinarialy complesso — over 100 costituent identificati, among which orcinolo, evernina, atranorina, acid d-usnico, acid fusaric and composti clorurati — with a aroma earthy, woody, muschiato and wild, marcataly different from qualsiasi altro essential oil. L'Unione European has classificato atranorina and cloroatranorina as allergeni of contact noti: the topical use deve avvenire to concentrations < 0,1% (IFRA); in diffusione environmental to low doses and safe. In aromatherapy and used as fixative, as remedy meditative-grounding and as riferimento olfattive of the sottobosco.
