Extracted by steam distillation from the leaves of Backhousia citriodora F.Muell. (myrtle-lemon, lemon myrtle), evergreen tree of the Myrtaceae endemic of the forests pluvial subtropical of the Queensland, in Australia, where grows in the forests wet of low elevation. The myrtle-lemon is the plant with the more alta concentration natural known of citral (geranial + neral) among all the organismi vegetal — up to to the 95-98% in the oil distillate, compared to the 60-80% of the lemongrass and to the 30-45% of the verbena. L'intensity aromatic is corrispondentely straordinaria: the myrtle-lemon is 3-4 times more concentrato of the lemongrass. The citral ad alta concentration provides powerful antibacterial properties (active on MRSA and Candida spp.), antiviral, antifungal and antisettic of broad spectrum. In aromatherapy it is used as antiseptic food and environmental of alta efficienza, as antimicrobic skin in the infections fungine, as note citrusy of altissima persistenza in perfumery and as aromatizing culinario. Photosensitizing. Top note intense, lemona and very persistent.

4 drops of Myrtle lemon + 3 drops of Lemon + 2 drops of Verbena in the diffuser. The myrtle lemon has to intensita olfattive of the lemon very superiore to the Citrus limon: freschezza citrusy undiluted and persistent.
