Extracted by steam distillation from the flowering tops of Lavandula × intermedia Emeric ex Loisel. (lavandino, lavandin), hybrid spontaneo and poi selezionato artificially among the lavender officinal (L. angustifolia) and the lavender spica (L. latifolia), cultivated intensively sugli altopiani of the Provence, of the Languedoc and of the Drôme in France. The lavandino is the main oil of 'lavender' of the commercio worldwide: produce 4-8 times more oil for ettaro compared to the lavender officinal (L. angustifolia), but has a profile chemical and therapeutic significativaly different. The phytochemical profile is dominated by linalool (25-40%), linalyl-acetate (25-40%) and camphor (6-12%) — the camphor, assente in the lavender officinal, is the main criterio chemical of distintion among the due. The camphor aggiunge analgesic properties and rubefacent but reduces the sedative effect undiluted of the lavender angustifolia. The lavandino is excellent as fragrance for detersive, cosmetic and rooms, but less recommended for the protocolli aromaterapic of alta precisione. Top-to-heart note lavandacea, fresh and slightly camphorata.
