Extracted by steam distillation from the wood of Fokienia hodginsii (Dunn) TO.Henry & H.H.Thomas (fokienia, Fujian cypress), conifera of the Cupressacee endemic of the China southern (Fujian, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou) and of the Vietnam northern, where grows in the forests montane wet among the 1.000 and the 2.200 m of elevation. Fokienia is a genus monotipic — comprende to only species vivente — classificato as vulnerable dto the IUCN for the pressione of the disboscamento selettive of the its high-quality wood aromatic. The phytochemical profile is eccezionally ricco in sesquiterpenes alcoholic: fokienolo (30-50%), cubebol, nor-cubebol and α-curcumene — a composition rare which si avvicina to the profile of the sandalwood but with a carattere more dry and earthy. The fokienolo has dimostrato properties antiossidant, antifungal and insettifughe. In aromatherapy it is used as sedative sweet of the nervous system, tonic venous and lymphatic, repellent for insects and moths and as alternative etica to the sandalwood in the compositions legnous of meditation. The fragrance is warm, dry and nobilly ligneo, with a profondity quieta. Base note woody, cedrous and meditative.

2 drops of Fokienia + 2 drops of Patchouli + 2 drops of Ylang Ylang + 1 drop of Sandalwood in the diffuser.
3 drops of Fokienia + 2 drops of Frankincense + 2 drops of Rose damascena + 1 drop of Vanilla in 10 ml of alcohol at 96°.
3 drops of Fokienia + 2 drops of Rosemary + 2 drops of Lemon in 30 ml of almond oil. Massage onto temples and nape.
