Plant description

Obtained for solvent extraction (absolute) from the leaves or from the flowers of Viola odorata L. (violet scented, sweet violet), small perennial herbaceous plant of the Violacee widespread in Europe and Asia temperata in the boschi umidi, to the bordi of the strade and of the campi. L'absolute of violet and among the more difficili and costous in perfumery for the low resa and the complessita chemical. From the punto of vista commercial, si trovano due products distinti: the absolute of leaves (more common, green-herbaceous) and the absolute of flowers (rarissima, floral-cipriata). The phytochemical profile of the absolute of leaves and dominated from benzyl-alcohol, fenilacetaldeide, nonadienal and 2,6-nonadienolo — responsible of the note green-vegetal characteristic. L'absolute of flowers contains iononi (alpha and beta-ionone: note violetto-floral), linalool and geraniol. The fragrance of violet sintetic of the mercato usa prevalentely iononi sintetic. In perfumery, the violet and iconic in the perfumes 'Violet' of the XIX century (Parma, Toulouse) and in the moderni Chypre and Floral. In aromatherapy and used as anxiolytic, antidepressant, afrodisiaca gentle. Heart note floral-cipriata, green, sweet and iononic.

Main uses

L'essential oil of violet is useful in case of acne, eczema, couperous eferite.
IS recommended for problems of the circulation, of muscles and joints, as fibrous, insufficienza circolatoria and rheumatism.
Grazie to the sue functions expectorant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, is suitable in the treatment of bronchitis, phlegm, infections of the bocca and of the gola.
IS used with ottimi risultati in case of dizziness, headache, insomnia and esaurimento nervous;a tempo si riteneva which the fragrance avesse the facoltà of confortare and corroborare the heart.
Is used in the perfumery of alta classe and occasionally as sostanza aromatic, especially in the industry dolciaria.

Recipes & blends

Cipriato fresh environment

2 drops Violet + 3 drops Bergamot + 2 drops Cedarwood atlantic in the diffuser. Blend fresh-cipriato with the characteristic accento 'violet' which evokes the perfumery storic European.

Expectorant and antiseptic airways

2 drops Violet + 2 drops Eucalyptus radiata + 2 drops Scots Pine in the diffuser. L'absolute of leaves has to action mucolitic and antiseptic on the respiratory tract upper.

Treatment skin acneic

1 drop Violet + 2 drops Tea tree + 2 drops Lavender in 20 ml of gel of aloe vera. Apply to the areas acneic as treatment seboregalant and cheratolitic light.

Sedative emotional melanconia

2 drops Violet + 2 drops Rose + 2 drops Bergamot in the diffuser. Recommended for melancholy, nostalgia and states of sadness quieta and riflessive.
