Extracted by cold pressing or for steam distillation from the fruit peel of Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle (lime, lime, West Indian lime, Mexican lime), small citrus fruit of the Rutaceae native of the South Asia (probably India northern or Malesia), widespread in all the Messico, in the Caraibi, in Brazil and in the Southeast asiatic. The lime pressofrigido and photosensitizing for the presence of furanocumarine (bergapten, isopimpinellina) — the version distillata and free of photosensitization. The phytochemical profile is dominated by d-limonene (50-65%), gamma-terpinene (8-15%) and para-cimene (5-10%), with beta-pinene and terpinen-4-olo; the version pressofrigido contains also bergapten. The d-limonene and responsible of the properties antiossidant, tonic-nervine and gastroprotettive common to all the citrus fruits. The lime has a fragrance more intense, more green and more pungent of the lemon, with note amare and florenal caratteristic. In aromatherapy and used as mood tonic, antiseptic, digestive, carminative and as base citrusy for blend estivi and perfumes Cologne. Very fresh top note, green-citrusy, slightly bitter and pungent.

5 drops Lime + 3 drops Bergamot + 2 drops Tea tree in 100 ml of spray (water + 10 ml alcohol). Deodorante and antiseptic for rooms domestic and bagni.
