Lime — Nardea

Plant description

Extracted by cold pressing or for steam distillation from the fruit peel of Citrus aurantiifolia (Christm.) Swingle (lime, lime, West Indian lime, Mexican lime), small citrus fruit of the Rutaceae native of the South Asia (probably India northern or Malesia), widespread in all the Messico, in the Caraibi, in Brazil and in the Southeast asiatic. The lime pressofrigido and photosensitizing for the presence of furanocumarine (bergapten, isopimpinellina) — the version distillata and free of photosensitization. The phytochemical profile is dominated by d-limonene (50-65%), gamma-terpinene (8-15%) and para-cimene (5-10%), with beta-pinene and terpinen-4-olo; the version pressofrigido contains also bergapten. The d-limonene and responsible of the properties antiossidant, tonic-nervine and gastroprotettive common to all the citrus fruits. The lime has a fragrance more intense, more green and more pungent of the lemon, with note amare and florenal caratteristic. In aromatherapy and used as mood tonic, antiseptic, digestive, carminative and as base citrusy for blend estivi and perfumes Cologne. Very fresh top note, green-citrusy, slightly bitter and pungent.

Recipes & blends

Cooling summer diffuser

4 drops Lime + 3 drops Mint peppermint + 2 drops Eucalyptus in the diffuser. Blend vivificant and purifying, ideal in the giornate calde and afose.

Tonic skin oily skin

2 drops Lime + 2 drops Cypress + 1 drop Tea tree in 50 ml of rose water + 5 ml of aceto of mele. Vaporizzare on the face as tonic astringent after the cleansing.

Cocktail olfattive anti-fatigue

3 drops Lime + 2 drops Rosemary + 2 drops Grapefruit in the diffuser. Fights the sonnolenza mental and the calo of concentration.

Spray environment purifying

5 drops Lime + 3 drops Bergamot + 2 drops Tea tree in 100 ml of spray (water + 10 ml alcohol). Deodorante and antiseptic for rooms domestic and bagni.

Scrub body energizing

5 drops Lime + 4 drops Orange sweet in 50 g of sea salt grosso mescolato with 2 cucchiai of coconut oil. Esfoliare on skin umida with movements circular. Not esporre to the sun after the application.

Contraindications

L'essential oil of lime may cause photosensitization and not va applied to the skin first of esporsi to the sun. Can risultare irritating in case of sensory skin;use with moderation.
