Extracted by steam distillation from the seeds mature of Foeniculum vulgare Mill. (fennel sweet, fennel, common fennel), perennial herbaceous plant or biennal of the Apiaceae widespread in all the Mediterranean and now cultivated in India, China, Egypt and America. The fennel and a plant medicinal fundamental of all the traditions: Dioscoride the citava for the colic infantili, and the its essential oil and among the most widely used in pediatria for the treatment of the colic gassous. The phytochemical profile is dominated by trans-anethole (55-75%) — the component dto the odor characteristic of anise — with fenchone (8-20%), alpha-phellandrene and limonene. L'anethole has properties estrogenic (fitoestrogeno), antispasmodic on the muscolatura liscia, galattogoge (stimulates the production of milk) and powerful carminative. The fenchone contributes to the properties digestive and to the action bitter-aromatic. Contraindicated during pregnancy (estrogenic), epilepsy and children small (neurotossicita of the fenchone to doses high). In aromatherapy and used as antispasmodic and carminative digestive, galattogogo, antitussive and as aperitive bitter. Top note sweet, anisata and slightly herbaceous.

1 drop Fennel + 1 drop Chamomile Roman in 20 ml of almond oil. Massage delicataly on the abdomen of the bambino in sense time 2-three times to day for the colic.
2 drops Fennel + 2 drops Anise green + 1 drop Mint peppermint in 10 ml of almond oil. Massage on the abdomen for bloating, gonfiore post-prandial and flatulenza.
2 drops Fennel in the diffuser for 20-30 min in the area in which si allatta. Supports the production of milk materno in the prime weeks of breastfeeding.
2 drops Fennel + 2 drops Cardamom + 1 drop Lemon balm in 15 ml of almond oil. Massage on the abdomen the evening for the digestion slow and the disorders from irritable bowel.
