Extracted by steam distillation from the petals fresh or from the cinorrodi (fruits) of Rose canina L. (rose wild, rose of macchia), shrub spinous of the Rosacee widespread in all Europe, Asia western and North Africa in the siepi, to the margini of the boschi and on the scarpate up to to 1.800 m. L'essential oil of petals of rose wild (assai rare and precious) condivide parzially the profile of the geranium rosaceo but with a note more wild. From distinguere dto the oil fisso of rose canina (rosehip oil) — the oil vegetal pressofrigido from the seeds of the cinorrodi, ricchissimo in acid linoleic and acidi grassi insaturi, very used in cosmesi anti-aging. The phytochemical profile of the essential oil include citronellol, geraniol, nerol and nonadecano — composti responsible of the fragrance floral-rosaceo gentle. In aromatherapy the oil of petals is used as antidepressant floral, tonic uterino, healing skin and aphrodisiac. L'oil fisso from the seeds is invece a regenerating skin excellent for scars, stretch marks and skin mature. Heart note floral, wild and delicataly rosea.
